Hi! I am Liang, Hua-Ta or you can just call me Eric. I'm currently pursuing a Master's in Autonomy and Robotics at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with a background in Biomechatronics from National Taiwan University. I am interseted in coding and building up autonomus robots. Now seeking for opportunities to utilize the acquired skill sets to further professionalism and actualize creativity to contribute to the robot or software development industry.

I'm Hua-Ta!

Liang, Hua-Ta (Eric) is a Master of Engineering student in Autonomy and Robotics at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of Biomechatronics Engineering at National Taiwan University. His research interests are mainly in the field of both Robotics and Machine Learning with a special interest in building various kinds of autonomous robots. He is also interested in Data Science and building various IoT devices.

His bachelor thesis is to build up an autonomous navigation system for UAVs to cruise in greenhouse. This research had received a fellowship for undergraduate research from the Ministry of Science and Technology. While working as the research assistant in the lab, he had also attended the 2023 ASABE international conference and published a journal paper. The research focuses on building an IOT system for monitoring dairy cows' behaviors.

In addition to his research capability, Eric’s reliability had also won the others' trust enabling him to have two teaching assistant experiences. As the captain of one of the teams in the 2021 field robot competition, Eric demonstrates his leadership by leading the team to win the Best Creativity Award. He also showed his ability and creativity to help his team achieve top 5 in Digital Innovative Application Competition. He had also done multiple projects such as building up a line tracking robot, a maze solving robot, and controlling a six-degrees-of-freedom robot arm with Robot Operating System(ROS). His passion in autonomous robots motivates him to seek for opportunities to utilize the acquired skillsets to further professionalism and actualize creativity to contribute to the industry.
